ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Chemical engineering is a branch of science that studies the chemical and physical changes of substances in the modern sense using the basic principles of chemistry, physics and mathematics. The scope of chemical engineering is quite wide and within the expertise of a chemical engineer, it can take place in many areas from the petrochemical industry to the plastic industry (polymers), from the pharmaceutical industry to the paper industry, from the textile industry to the defense industry. Our research laboratories are set up to operate in areas such as polymer technology, polymer synthesis, coating processes, surface treatments, reaction kinetics, separation processes, thermodynamics and process control.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, our master's and doctoral programs in the Department of Defense Technologies started within the Graduate Education Institute. The primary goal of our department is to lead the development of the Department of Defense Technologies in Chemical Engineering, and it is planned to open undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs for Chemical Engineering in the medium term.

We invite our colleagues, who have received their undergraduate degrees from Chemical Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, Nuclear Energy Engineering, Polymer Materials Engineering and Chemistry Department, to study in the master's and doctoral programs of our University's Defense Technologies Department.

OUR MISSION:
To educate graduates with ethical values who can work in disciplines related to chemical engineering, especially in chemical engineering, who can conduct their own research.

OUR VISION:
To become a nationally and internationally recognized chemical engineering department with high-level research and education activities.
